My 1st graders created monster hands.
We traced our hands and then MONSTERIZED them. My only request was that there be no blood- blue goo or green ooze was fine but no blood or violence.
*I must add that I LOVE using the technology my district has. Each classroom (with a few stragglers soon to be caught up) has its own Promethian board and doc cam. They are my best friends. Its so much easier to show an example on the doc cam than try to recreate it using chalk or dry erase marker (ONE classroom of 42 still has a chalk board, the rest have some dry erase board space but most of it went for the Promethian boards). This classroom does not have a doc cam yet so I just drew the example using the Flipchart on Promethian. I prefer to draw on paper so its similar to what the kids will do but this worked out ok.

I teach at 3 schools. No art rooms- its art on a cart minus the cart. (I get a cart at the school with no stairs). 900 kids- 42 classes a week, 30 minutes each.
