4th grade oil pastel fall trees
I’m not sure what it is about trees but I LOVE using them as our subject in art. I do fall tree, winter trees, spring trees…
Since I only get 30 min/week with my kids, I start by showing a diagram of a tree and we discuss what each part is and its function. Then we draw the tree together- trunk, roots, horizon line, then a “V” inside the trunk and a series of “V”s and branches- then they add details and finally color.

I teach at 3 schools. No art rooms- its art on a cart minus the cart. (I get a cart at the school with no stairs). 900 kids- 42 classes a week, 30 minutes each.
